Emily Moore was born and raised in Elgin IL. Growing up in a musical family, she started singing in church at age 5, taking piano lessons at 8, and played trumpet throughout her middle and high school years. She was blessed to have several amazing choral mentors growing up who allowed her to accompany at an early age.
Upon graduation from Larkin High School in 1994, she received a music scholarship to Judson University. There she accompanied the college choir, sang with the Chamber Singers, and met her amazing husband Jeff! She earned a degree in music education in 1998. She has been teaching middle school choir, theater, and directing musicals in Huntley School District 158 ever since. Emily received her Master’s in Teaching and Leadership in 2009 from St. Xavier University.
Her greatest joy is being mom to two amazing boys—Eli and Sam. These talented young men are often seen playing drums, bass, and singing with the praise band. In her free time she loves to run half marathons, read, spend time with family, and drink coffee. Emily feels blessed to call Cornerstone her church home since 1998.
