Jeff Moore was born and raised in Machesney Park, IL (a “northern suburb of Rockford”), where music was an important part of his life. He began piano lessons at age 10 and also played the tuba throughout middle school and high school. Jeff received a music scholarship to Judson University (Judson College back then…) and performed with both the Judson College Choir and the Judson College Handbell Choir. Jeff has performed in concerts throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Although Jeff graduated from Judson in December 1993, he was invited to continue touring with the groups through 1995, when, on a tour to Asia, Jeff met his wife, Emily. They were married in 1998 and have two children, Elijah and Sam.
Jeff’s walk with Christ began at age 7. That walk has been filled with several peaks and valleys, but through it all, Christ has proven Himself to be faithful. Jeff has continually felt the Call of Christ on his life, and in 2007, after 12 years in the corporate world, Jeff joined the Cornerstone Staff as Worship Coordinator. Of all of the titles and professional accomplishments, the title of Worship Director has been the most fulfilling and meaningful for him.
Jeff believes that worship is much more than a song or a liturgy; it is more of a lifestyle. He bases his approach to worship from Colossians 3:17, where it says: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
