Worship with us at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday!
Worship is an important piece of life at Cornerstone. We believe that worship is more than singing or playing an instrument. Worship is about drawing near to the One who created us and knows us better than we know ourselves. We embrace the statement that “worship is a lifestyle,” and are committed to making that statement a reality in the lives of those who worship with us.
Our worship experience is intentionally designed to convey Biblical truth in ways that have cross-generational appeal. We strive to communicate the relevancy of the gospel to our everyday lives. Sometimes, that might mean finding God in a song we might hear on the radio, or using a clip from a TV show or movie to draw us into a deeper understanding of who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
Communion is served on the second Sunday of each month. All are invited to receive Communion; you do not have to be United Methodist or a member of this congregation. There is no age requirement. It is the Lord’s Supper, not ours, and it is Christ who invites you. Whether you choose to receive Communion with us is between you and God.
Our worship ministries lead and participate in worship not as performers, but as worshippers who are actively offering their talents and gifts to God. We believe that worship is an act of participation between God the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and us. Below are some of the worship ministry opportunities available at Cornerstone. If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Moore at 847-464-4673 or through e-mail.
Audio Production: The Audio Production Team helps to make sure that the message being communicated is heard (literally). Team members also minister to those that can’t be with us in person through the recording and duplication of CD’s. Experience isn’t necessary and training is provided.
Visual Presentation: The Visual Presentation Team helps us to see the message that is being communicated. Each week, team members assist in putting together and displaying song lyrics, background slides, short movies, or any other media that you might see on a Sunday Morning. No experience or computer literacy is required. Training is provided.
Visual Display: The Visual Display Team helps design and coordinate all of the visual elements and decorations that you see in the Worship Room or in the hallways. Additionally, Visual Display Team Members assist with wedding planning and design. Visual Display Team Members also assist with color coordination and painting throughout the building.
