Feed My Starving Children Meal Packing

Cornerstone has 15 spots reserved to help pack meals at the Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg on Saturday, September 11th. Masks will be required. Ages 5 and up can volunteer. Can you participate?

On average, you’ll produce $52 of food in one two-hour packing session, which feeds a child for seven months. Volunteers and donors just like you fund every FMSC meal.

The “why” is sobering. The current COVID crisis continues to devastate the poorest communities around the world. FMSC hears desperation from partner after partner. In Haiti, the value of the country’s dollar has plummeted, doubling the cost of a simple bag of rice and making food literally unreachable for many families. One of their partners there put it this way, “This food is so important now. It is gold. It is gold!”

And the need continues to grow. The UN’s World Food Programme estimates that if current trends continue, the number of people hungry globally will reach 265 million this year and 840 million by 2030. Simply put, we have to act now.
