The Spirit Lake Ministry is a UMC-sponsored mission in support of the peoples of the Spirit Lake Nation, which includes six reservations in the Dakotas and Minnesota. One part of the outreach is Shoebox Christmas, a program that provides Christmas gifts to children on the reservations.

The Spirit Lake Ministry needs items for the Spirit Lake children and appreciates our continued involvement and generosity. Locally, we gather small, age-appropriate items such as socks, journals, toys, and mittens; which are then packed in shoe boxes and delivered to the Spirit Lake Nation children.

Lists of needed items are available in the Volunteer Room at Cornerstone on the collection center rack.

To simplify the collection process, it has been decided that you please contact Andy Lindstrom, our local main point person for the ministry, directly with any questions and/or donations, at Journey of Hope Church (formerly Epworth UMC), located at the corner of Randall and Highland in Elgin (37W040 Highland Ave.). The church phone number is 847-931-5400.

Andy Lindstrom's contact information is as follows:
email address is: andrewlindstrom@yahoo.com
phone number: 708-212-8277
home address: 906 N. Spring St. Elgin, Illinois

Thank you for your support in the past and the future as we continue to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

If I can be of any help to you please contact me as well.

With gratitude,
Michelle Hayes
