Mission Projects: Giving Tree and Covered with Love

by Gale Vician and Tish Calhamer

Cornerstone Church is focusing on mission efforts here in our own “backyard” this December and January with these two giving projects: A Giving Tree to benefit the patients at Elgin Mental Health Center and Covered with Love sleeping bag donations for the Elgin Soup Kettle’s homeless population.

Giving Tree - now through December 12th

A Giving Tree has been set up at the entrance of the sanctuary. Please choose an ornament from the tree with items that are needed for the Elgin Mental Health Center. Please return the unwrapped gift to the box located next to the tree by December 12th.

Covered with Love - now through January 16th

Warm sleeping bags for the Elgin Soup Kettle’s homeless population are greatly needed. Cornerstone’s goal is to donate 15 mummy-style, 0 degree rated sleeping bags. Two bags have been pre-purchased, which you may buy or share the cost with another family.

Contact Gale Vician at vicianova@comcast.net or Tish Calhamer at calhamer@yahoo.com for more information.
