From the Desk of Pastor Melissa

When Jesus appeared before his friends after the resurrection he said to them, “Peace be with you!”. He greeted them a few days later with those same words of peace. Over and over again those who followed Jesus needed these words of greeting and reassurance because they were afraid and unsure and they didn’t understand what was happening in their hearts or in their world.

So, out of love for them, Jesus repeated his greeting of peace until they were able to hear it-until they were able to feel it-until they were able to live it.

We understand because we too are in a time of turmoil. There are continuing health concerns and financial concerns and the discomfort of wearing masks and sorting out vaccination schedules.

Through it all I pray that you will hear Jesus calling to you with an ancient greeting of peace, “Peace be with you, because I am with you”.

Peace be with you, this is God’s peace, which is beyond any dislocation, disorientation, or fear this world may produce. Peace be with you for I go before you into the most unknown tomorrow.

Peace be with you. Do you feel God’s peace? If not, hear the message again and again: God’s peace be with you.

I look forward to seeing you in church,

Pastor Melissa
