January 2023 Pastor’s Letter

From the Desk of Pastor Melissa

Dear Friends,

In scripture, God reminds us again and again that our Creator makes all things new. How do you long to be made new?

Perhaps you are looking to experience renewal in your relationships, with better friendships and connections. Maybe you need to let go of relationships that have run their course that now create more harm than good in your life. Perhaps you are ready for your marriage to have new life or you are seeking uplifting relationships with folk who are interested in rising up as well.

What do you long to be made new? Is your physical health begging for attention? Is your body in need of increased movement and good nutrition? Do you long for deep emotional health and healing?

What do you long to be made new? Perhaps your desire is to feel more connected spiritually. You wonder if God is listening, if anybody cares about you. You want to worship, to pray, to engage scripture, but need a supportive place to do all of this.

At Cornerstone Church, we are committed and preparing to help you to experience the renewal God has for you. God has a dream for you, for us, for your people, and your church in 2023.

We are joyfully willing to be a part of your dream for 2023.

In the words and spirit of John Wesley, hear this prayer from my heart, said by the people called Methodist at the coming of the New Year for 200 years:

I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.

We’ll talk again soon,

Pastor Melissa
