Cornerstone Church is focusing on mission efforts here in our own “backyard” this December and January with these two giving projects: A Giving Tree to benefit the patients at Elgin Mental Health Center and Covered with Love sleeping bag donations for the Elgin Soup Kettle’s homeless population.

Cornerstone has 15 spots reserved to help pack meals at the Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg on Saturday, September 11th from 9-11 am. Masks will be required. Ages 5 and up can volunteer.

Backpacks are needed for Back-to-School! School District U46 is providing elementary school students with school supplies this year, but kids still need backpacks! Cornerstone will be collecting backpacks Sunday, August 1st through Sunday, August 15th.

The Spirit Lake Ministry is a UMC-sponsored mission in support of the peoples of the Spirit Lake Nation, which includes six reservations in the Dakotas and Minnesota. One part of the outreach is Shoebox Christmas, a program that provides Christmas gifts to children on the reservations.

Cornerstone is hosting the Soup Kettle dinner at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on the third Friday of every month this year from 4-7 pm and we need volunteers!

Did you know there was value in small bread tabs? Plastic grocery tabs that are on different forms of bread wrappers, as well as on produce like bags of potatoes, are being collected on behalf of the SCARCE organization in partnership with Danielle Cares for Chairs.

Into Kenya is offering a single origin, organic coffee from Kenya.
